Chillar Party Music Review

Chillar Party is an upcoming children’s film about a bunch of local kids who can do anything to bring the change in their society. The Music of this film is composed by Amit Trivedi who has been associated with films like Dev D, Aisha, No one killed jessica, who all have been musical successes. So, one is eager to know the outcome of this album. Let’s see if he succeeds or not?

The Album kickstarts with ‘Tai Tai Phish’ which is totally a tapori song and goes well with the theme of the movie. The promos of this song has been recently aired on television channels and going by the buzz, this song is a sure shot chartbuster. The beats of the song are reminiscent of the sounds heard in the ganpati festival which adds to the local flavour of the song. Amit trivedi has sung this with style and backing vocals are by Jaishri trivedi. The lyrics by Nitesh Tiwari and Amit Trivedi are apt for this kind of song.

The next ‘Aa rela hai apun’ is similar to the above track both in terms of setting and lyrics. The only difference is that here Amit Trivedi is supported by Armaan Mlick, Tanmay Chaudhary, Amitabh Bhattachrya and Arvind Vishkarma in the singing department. Also the phrase ‘Aa rela hai apun’ has benn used instead of ‘Tai Tai Phish’.

The Third track ‘Chatte Batte’ sung by Mohit Chauhan is a complete opposite of the earlier tracks in terms of composition and singing style. This one is soft and sweet song sung mellifluously by Mohit Chauhan and able support have been lend  by child artistes in the background. Amit Trivedi shows his versatality as a composer and lyrics are also noteworthy here. A famous idiom ‘ Ek hi thali ke chatte batte hai’ have been intelligently incorporated in the song to describe the chidren’s characteristic.

Again, the album changes route and comes back to it’s tapori self with ‘ Ziddi Piddi’ which is a situational track sung by Amit Trivedi and a bunch of kids. It sounds like a war cry of kids against their enemies. It will gain momentum after the film’s release.

The fifth track of the album ‘Ek school banana hai’ is an inspirational track and highlights the shortcomings of our educational system and the need of a school in every vicinity. The music here takes a backseat as the lyrics overpower them completely. The song has been sung by Gaurika Rai, Keshav Rai, Firoza and the students of Ajivasan school, all of whom have done a commendable job. The credit for this goes to the composer Amit Trivedi for providing a chance to such talented kids.

Next in line is ‘ Behla do’ sung by Armaan Malick and Firoza which reminds me of the song ‘Aali Re’ from the movie ‘No one killed jessica’ in terms of it’s setting. Again , the lyrics overpowers the music and displays the mentality of adults towards the kids with utmost conviction. Kudos to the lyricist Nitesh Tiwari for such a commendable work. Arman malick shows his power as a singer and has sung it with passion and zeal.

The next Track ‘Liar Liar Pants on Fire’ is an english song sung by Gaurika Rai and Keshav Rai. The song is very sweet and innocent which will appeal to the kids especially. Singing by the kids leaves an impact and the lyrics are also quite good. As for the composition, it is quite similar to a barbie song.

The last track of the album is a sad version of the song’ chatte batte’ again sung by Mohit Chauhan but this time, it is a more restained and soulful singing. It lasts for about 2.32 minutes and is a sweet ending to the album.

Overall, the album is fresh and is a respite from the usual bollywood masala songs. The lyrics are innovative and the music complements them.

My Picks: Tai Tai Phish, Chatte Batte, Ek school banana hai
